§ 9.36.090. Same—Appointments; removal; terms; chairman elected; quorum.

  • Members shall be appointed by the mayor with the consent of the council, and shall be removable for cause by the mayor with the consent of the council upon written charges and after public hearing. Members shall be appointed to serve for overlapping terms as heretofore provided, pursuant to Chapter 2.32, until the expiration of the respective terms of present members, when a successor shall be respectively appointed or reappointed pursuant to this chapter. Members may be reappointed to serve successive terms. Upon the expiration of the terms of present members, Each member thereafter appointed or reappointed shall serve for a term of three (3) years, or until his successor is duly appointed and qualified. The commission shall elect its own chairman. Five (5) members shall constitute a quorum, and the concurrence of a majority of those present shall be sufficient for action.
