§ 10.08.100. Load limits on streets and highways.

  • A.

    It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to operate any motor vehicle having a gross weight in excess of five (5) tons along, upon or over any street or thoroughfare within the City limits of Collinsville, Madison and St. Clair Counties, Illinois, except on any street or thoroughfare designated as an interstate, state or county route, and except for the purpose of making delivery or picking up a load, in which case such vehicle may be driven on such street for not more than the minimum distance necessary for the purpose; and except for municipal vehicles owned or used by the City of Collinsville.

    B.

    It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to park any motor vehicle having a gross weight of more than three (3) tons or having a width of more than seven (7) feet upon, along or over any street or thoroughfare with the City limits of Collinsville, Madison and St. Clair Counties, Illinois, between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 5:00 a.m., except for any motor vehicle in the process of loading or unloading, and except for any municipal vehicle owned or used by the City in the performance of municipal functions.
